The founder of CertaDex started out in a single branch of building compliance — deep in water hygiene and Legionella management. It was technical, detailed, and demanding. But it was a known world, with a familiar framework of regulations, codes of practice, and risk assessments.
Then came a promotion. Overnight, the scope changed entirely. What had been one discipline became ten. Pressure systems. Fire safety. Asbestos. Electrical compliance. Health and safety legislation. Each with its own regulatory framework, its own approved codes of practice, its own terminology, its own consequences for getting it wrong.
"I went from being an expert in one thing to being responsible for everything — and there was no single place to go to understand what that actually meant in practice."
The regulations existed. The guidance documents existed. But they were written for solicitors and enforcement officers — not for the person who needed to implement them on Monday morning while also managing a maintenance schedule, a team, and a budget.
What was missing was something practical. Something that took the complexity of each discipline and translated it into plain English — not dumbed down, but genuinely useful. The kind of resource that would have made that transition from specialist to compliance manager not just survivable, but actually manageable.
That's what CertaDex is. A resource built by someone who lived the problem — and decided to solve it.
