This policy explains what personal information CertaDex collects, why we collect it, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it. We've written it in the same plain English we use in our guides.
The short version: we collect your details only when you contact us or buy a guide. We use them to reply to you and to deliver what you've paid for. We don't sell your data, we don't share it for marketing, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
CertaDex Ltd is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
When you use the contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, organisation name (if you give it), the enquiry type you select, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of the conversation. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has deliberately asked us to get in touch — supported by the consent tick box on the form.
When you buy a guide, the payment is processed through Payhip Ltd and their payment provider, Stripe. They collect your payment details directly; CertaDex never sees or stores your card information. We receive your name, email address, the product purchased, the amount paid and the country of purchase, which we use to fulfil the order, provide support and meet our tax and accounting obligations. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract, and legal obligation for the records HMRC requires us to keep.
When you simply visit the site, our host records standard server log information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. This is used to keep the site running and secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
This website sets no cookies of its own. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or any other tracking technology. There is nothing for you to consent to or opt out of.
We do load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google will see your IP address as part of that request. This is the only third-party request the site makes, and no cookie is set. If you would prefer to block it, most browsers and content blockers allow you to do so without affecting how the site works.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
Payhip Ltd is a UK company. Some of our other providers operate servers outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by International Data Transfer Agreements / Standard Contractual Clauses.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email hello@certadex.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Our guides are digital files that download immediately, and a free sample is published so you can see exactly what you are buying before you commit. For that reason we do not offer refunds for change of mind, and where you are buying for business or professional purposes there is no statutory right to cancel. If a file is faulty, incomplete, or materially not as described, email hello@certadex.co.uk within 14 days of purchase and we will either put it right or refund you in full. Any other request is considered on its merits, at our discretion. Where you are buying as a consumer rather than for business purposes, your statutory rights are unaffected. A refund ends your licence to use the guide — each copy is stamped with the purchaser's email address and remains subject to copyright, and may not be retained, copied, distributed or used commercially once a refund has been issued. Refunds are issued by us through Payhip.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
If we change how we handle personal data we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
